About Us |
Who Are We? Townley Presbyterian Church is a growing congregation of caring people, united in our love of Jesus Christ and committed to our Church. We are as diverse in our ages and our backgrounds as all of Union. Everyone is welcomed to be a part of our Church Home and Christian family. We provide nurture for all members of our congregation: A young child who needs a Sunday School, a young adult who benefits from a strong Youth Group, a growing family that needs support to overcome the challenges of raising children to retirees who need to have contact with one another. Townley Presbyterian Church has something for everyone and everyone has something to offer. If you are seeking to join a church in our community or hoping to find your first church, then come to our house for a time of worship and fellowship. |
Sunday Church School Our Church School program welcomes all children to participate in a dynamic curriculum, based on the bible. Our staff is dedicated and enthusiastic about teaching God's love and providing an opportunity to grow in Christian faith. Children worship with the family during the first half hour of the Family Worship Service, which includes a children's sermon. They then attend their respective classes. |

The Chancel Choir Our adult Chancel Choir sings each Sunday during the worship service and also provides music for special services such as Christmas and Easter. We are very proud of our choir and think you'll agree that they are among the best you've heard. We also have three children's choirs, the Cherub Choir (pre-school), Carol Choir (up to age 10) and the Chapel Choir (up to age 14). |
Youth Group Children from the eighth grade up are invited to join our Youth Group, meeting on alternate Sunday evenings at 5 pm, for a casual program of religious teaching and fun. Other activities are often planned including ice skating, movies, bowling or church overnights. At least once a year there is a weekend retreat to the beautiful Presbyterian Camp located in Johnsonburg, New Jersey. Our pastor and several adult advisors from the congregation work together with our young adults. Our goal is to give a sense of self worth and to instill strong values and a loving and caring attitude. |
